Biography
Tom Y. Chang is an associate professor of Finance and Business Economics at the USC Marshall School of Business, a research fellow at the Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics and a CESR fellow at the USC Dornsife Center for Economic and Social Research.
His conducts research in the fields of behavioral economics, corporate finance, applied microeconomics and industrial organization. His current research focuses on better understanding individual decision making and its implications for firm behavior.
Professor Chang holds a Ph.D. in economics and a B.S. in physics from MIT. His research has been supported by grants from the AHA, George and Obie Schultz Fund, JPAL, Kauffman Foundation, NSF, NIH and the USDA. His work has received extensive media coverage in such outlets as The Associated Press, The Atlantic, BBC, Bloomberg, The Daily Show, The Economist, The Financial Times, NPR, The New York Times, PBS, Scientific American, The Today Show, The Tonight Show, and The Wall Street Journal.
